Condiment Groups/List

Condiment Groups/List

Condiment Setup

You can create condiments within Total Control Premier to send down to the tills. If you open up TCP and click into GPOS Specifics menu down the left hand side.

You will see two options.

Condiment Groups and Condiments

Condiment Groups are a collection of condiment options that can be selected during the sale of a product.

Condiments are the options available to the group.

In both you are able to “Add / edit / delete” condiment records. These items can be associated with a product during registration, and give instructions to a chef in a kitchen on how to prepare the product.

Inside the Condiment Group you have a choice of either a condiment or a PLU.

The condiments have no price on them however the PLUs can have a price on them; an example would be toppings for a burger. The cheese, pickle, mayo and bun may all be condiments which can be swapped out with no price but bacon could be an additional option for £0.50.

To add items into a condiment group, use either the condiments or PLUs tab to make your selection, and drag these across to the pale blue window on the right hand side. Once a selection has been made, you can alter the ordering by clicking an item and then using the up/down buttons to move
its position.

You can also set a minimum and maximum selection on the condiment group, meaning that people have to choose an option with the product or that they are only allowed a few options instead. Both can work alongside each other.

In the condiments list you simply have a code and a name against that code, this name will be presented to the kitchen on the kitchen printer so they know what options have been selected on the product.

Condiments are instructional messages that can be selected after registering a PLU. There is no upper limit to the number of condiments a system has.

Once you created a condiment this can be added to the PLU by opening up Products within General Database and selecting the PLU by clicking Edit. Once you are in the editing product screen, if you drop down general options to POS options along with expanding Condiment Groups for the questions you want to ask by changing from False to True.

To give a product a condiment price then follow the above but select “Condiment price” as the tab rather than “condiment groups”. Once the price is enabled then whenever the product is selected in the condiment selection it will add it with a charge.

Options in the GPOS utility

System Option 335 - When set, the registration of a plu as a condiment to another PLU will use that PLU’s programmed condiment price. If not set, the condiment PLU is sold at whatever the current plu price is.

System Option 149 – Kitchen Printing - When set, GPoS will try and keep the
order of the kp output to match how it was rung in. This may differ slightly if condiments are added to PLU’s at the end of the transaction, but generally will stick to the order as rung in. If not set, the ticket will be ordered by the PLU code.

System Option 156 – Print Condiment Selection on Receipt. Choose to print condiment selections on the receipt (does not affect KP tickets).

System Option 157 – Condiments in Red for Printing. If set is capable, print condiments in red on the target printer.
