Configuring Star SM-230i (Bluetooth)

How to configure a SM-230i (Bluetooth) for use with Gpos

1. Ensure the printer is set to ESC/POS mode
This is done by pressing and holding the feed and power it will then print off a configuration

2. Go into Bluetooth and other device settings (Windows 10)
3. Add Bluetooth or other device
4. It will show on the list as default as Star Micronics
5. The security pin is 1234 (default)
*This can be changed using the StarPRNT utility*
6. Once it has been added it will show up within devices and printers.
7. Go into the properties and it will tell you which COM port it is using

8. Install StarPRNT V2.2 (latest at the time) https://www.starmicronics.com/Support/download.aspx?type=1&tabText=StarPRNT%20for%20Portable%20V2.2%20Full%20Package%2032/64-bit&path=DriverFolder\drvr\StarPRNT_Portable_v2.2_setup_full_20170328.zip&id=4783&referrer=http://www.starmicronics.com/support/default.aspx
11. Register CCO and choose the service object SM-230iB
12. It will then ask you to configure the OPOS printer and specify the operation mode (ESC/POS) as well as the COM PORT (my example COM6).
13. Next add it into Gpos as serial printer using the default COM settings include DTR/DSR and just change the COM PORT number.
14. When Gpos is starting attached devices the Bluetooth light will come on and stay permanently on whilst Gpos is in operation. When Gpos is closed the Bluetooth light will go off.

*A new configuration is needed for this printer as it's only a 58mm printer and doesn't have the ability to cut the paper etc* - To be added.
