Customer Identifier Types

This article applies to Total Control Premier 2.13 and higher.

Identifier Types are used to denote the physical format an Identifier is being presented as to GPoS, eg Barcode, Magnetic Stripe Card, QR Code, etc.

Creating and Managing Identifier Types

  1. Click Customers - the Customers module will appear displaying links to the various sections of the Customers module
  2. Click Identifier Types in the Identifier Options section - the Identifier Types list will appear

Create an Identifier Type

  1. Click Add
  2. Enter a suitable Description
  3. Set the Lookup type to the appropriate format - additional fields may appear depending on the Lookup type selected
  4. Set the Next Free Code, which is used when creating new Identifiers of this type
  5. Click Save to save the record and remain in the record, Save & New to save the record and create a new Identifier Type, or Save & Close to save the record and return to the Identifier Types list

Edit an Identifier Type

  1. Click the Identifier Type you want to edit, then click Edit, or double-click the Identifier Type
  2. Edit the required details
  3. Click Save to save the record and remain in the record, or Save & Close to save the record and return to the Identifier Types list

Changing the Lookup type will change the Lookup type of all Identifiers associated with this Identifier Type.

Delete one or more Identifier Types

  1. Click the Identifier Type you want to delete, or click the tickbox next to each Identifier Type that you want to delete
  2. Click Delete - you will be asked to confirm that you want to delete the selected Identifier Type(s), or warned that you cannot delete the select Identifier Type(s) because one or more Identifiers are associated with them
