Setting up Dashboards

If you select the ‘Favourites’ section menu from TCP and click Dashboards. This will open up the Dashboard in a new tab within the Desktop version of Total Control Premier.


If you click on ‘New’ to set up a new dashboard.


This will take you into the configuration screen.


Within the New dashboard field, you can rename and give your dashboard a new name which by default shows as 'New Dashboard'.

Within the grid section which you can expand the lines as follows;


If you want to add in extra grids, if you right-click in the box which will give you a sub-menu to allow you to add extra cells to the end of the row, a new column to end or row to the bottom.


Once you have your cells in position, you can drag and drop items into the cells e.g. Top X Best Sellers, hourly sales. Sales by Day and so on by highlighting as follows and dragging across the screen and dropping into the cell.


If you like to make changes to one of the cells how this reports in the dashboard if you click on ‘Options’ which will open a new pop up box to allow you to change the filtering or the appearance.


Within the section, if you click under sites and expand you can select the tills you wish to see in your listing and the same again under the product group tab. If you’re happy you can leave as default. 


If you click into the ‘Appearance’ tab


You can make changes, for example, I am currently in the top sellers which I can change the TOP X from showing the top-selling 5 items and increase this number to see the top 10 or more.

Once done, if you click OK which will take you back to your dashboard screen.

When you have finished if you click ‘Save’.


This will now save your dashboard layout under your user profile.

If you wanted to have a colleague to have the same dashboard layout this can be copied to user profiles in Total Control Premier. If you click the following; 'Copy to' from the menu.


This will bring up the ‘Copy Dashboard to’ properties box.


If you click on a ‘User’ followed by clicking ‘Copy’…


This will prompt you if you are happy to go ahead with the change as follows…


If you click ‘Yes’ you will see the following message…


Your dashboard has now copied across to another user in TCP who will now see the same dashboard as yourself.
