Group 2 Shifting for Kitchen Printing

Group 2 Shifting for Kitchen Printing

This article will instruct you on how to use the Group 2 shift in GPoS.
This can be usefull for kitchen prints to state if an order is for eat in or take out.
Please note this guide will not work if you are already using Group 2's for multibuys and we are also assuming you are already using KP1 for tickets.

Firstly you will need to create the relevant Group 2s. For our example we will make the first one "Eat in" which will be our default and the second "Take Away".

We will then set a product to use Group 2 "Eat In" as the default option.

For the items to print off on the kitchen printer with the group 2's we will need to set two system options to true.
These systems options are 168 and 423.

Next we will need to create a macro. This macro will be used to tax shift to group 2 "Takeaway".
The contents of this macro will be "2" and "G2 Shift". These can both be found under the "System" heading.

Lastly we will need to place both the product and the new macro to the touch screen layout.

The function will be you firstly press the macro button and then the product button.
In the example above all products will print as group 2 "eat in". Each product you want to set as group 2 "takeaway" will need to have the macro button pressed first to change the group 2.
