A new feature for TCP Version 2.11 within Total Control Premier Desktop edition where you can use device name for the IP Address field. 


For example within the site structure;



By using Device name of your terminal within TCP, if your setup was using DHCP IP addresses e.g. 192.168.xx.xx which can change by picking out the next free IP address in the listing causing the back office to no longer see the till terminal.

By using the name the system will only look for the device name on the network to receive sales data in from.


Within GPOS version 1.64 under system option 350, this be can be set by IP address or by Device name to point at the server for the real-time comms.
