POS Terminals reporting no network connection even when they are connected

POS Terminals reporting no network connection even when they are connected

Following some Windows Updates, it would seem that the Network Location Awareness and Network List services are denied access to the registry keys which list the network adaptors. As a result, with no access to the network adaptor information, Windows starts reporting that there's no network connection.

To resolve this, allow Full Control to the LOCAL SERVICE and NETWORK SERVICE accounts on HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList, but set these permissions using the Advanced options, as you'll need to tick Replace all child object permission entries with inheritable permission entries from this object.

Following this, restart the POS Terminal for these permission changes to take effect.
