Resetting A Skorpio HHT

Resetting A Skorpio HHT

This article applies to the Datalogic Skorpio X3 and X4. Pictures are of the Skorpio X4.

If the HHT has got itself into a frozen or crashed state, and has stopped responding or is not behaving correctly, resetting the terminal can more often than not resolve the error state.

Warm Boot

A warm boot terminates any currently running applications and clears the RAM. The system is left intact ready to be used again, with the Fidelity application (and Upgrader where applicable) left installed and configured as it was before the warm boot. This is often useful for dealing with the Fidelity application getting stuck or frozen, or for forcing a WiFi reconnection when it's not been possible to manually connect it.

To complete a warm boot, press and hold the yellow, blue and ESC buttons simultaneously.

Cold Boot

A cold boot terminates any currently running applications and clears the RAM, but also reinitialises the system and as part of the restart process, the Fidelity application (and Upgrader where applicable) is reinstalled. This is useful for when the Fidelity application has frozen or failed, and a warm boot does not resolve the problem.

To complete a cold boot, follow the below steps.

1. Turn the HHT off by holding the On/Off button.

2. Remove the battery pack - pull down the latch and then lift the battery off.
Remove the battery pack
3. Press and hold the SCAN button and the Reset button in the battery compartment.

4. Replace the battery pack - place the battery into the compartment and then push down until the latch clicks.

5. Turn the HHT on by holding the On/Off button.

The HHT will then run through a short routine to reinitialise itself and reinstall the Fidelity application. You will need to run the Get Lookups routine again in the Fidelity application to reimport Product and User data.

If you need further help with this, contact us or submit a ticket.
