Set Menus are found in Total Control Premier under the GPoS
Specifics tab.
Select ‘add’ at the top of the set menu applet and this will
open the dialog box as shown below:
Choose a suitable name for the first course and put a
maximum selection aloud per person in the course; ie. Starters given a standard
selection of 1.
To add products into this course, click and drag the product
from the table on the left hand side into the newly course box.
This populates the course with your product choices, these
use the price of the overall Set Menu PLU (described below) however you can add
a 'surcharge' to the products if you want them to be included in the Set Menu
but for an additional price.
Repeat the above for multiple course selections.
Adding the Set Menu to the till.
Once you have created your Set Menu it must be linked to a
Product with it’s overall price defined on the product itself.
To add it to your product, go to the 'pos options' part of
the product edit, under “general” it will have a row named “set menu code” as
shown below; enter the code of the Set Menu you previously setup.
Another way you could have a set menu, but allow certain
choices later in the meal; is to use a multibuy with your Set Menu.
To do this you would create a multibuy (see multibuy
document) and put your Set Menu product in as an individual trigger of 1, then
add your other products which you are entering at a later point in the
transaction.
An example of how this would work; you sell a set menu of 2
courses for £18.95, but the customer can choose a dessert at the table and it
upgrades the price to £22.95 should they want it. The products which can be
entered later can be included in a group or group 2, for ease of product
selection.
In the above case it is best not to set a limit to how many
times the multibuy can be used in a transaction. See below.
Add this product for your set menu choices to the till’s
touchscreen layout and communicate this down to the tills of your choice.
