Setting Scanners to be in USB Serial Emulation mode

Scanners can be operated in USB Serial Emulation mode, which means that the scanner connects to the POS terminal as a virtual serial device. This can be done either with a utility provided by the manufacturer, or by scanning programming barcodes.
