Adding Products Summary

A PLU (Price Look Up) record represents a product that is sold by the outlet and is at the heart of any PoS system. Most reports taken from GPoS are based on the sale of PLU’s. Unlike other systems, there is no upper limit on the maximum number of PLU’s you can create.

If you expand the ‘General Database’ sub-menu and select Products.

This will open up the Product Maintenance screen which will load your current live products.

If you wanted to ‘Add’ a new PLU to your current database if you select ‘Add New’ from the menu.

This will open up the ‘Adding Product’ properties box.

By default, this will pick up the next available ‘Product code’ in your listing which can be changed to match the barcode on the Product (This is set by the General Options under Setup).

  • You will need to give the Product a name within the Description field which will duplicate into the Name field.
  • If you click into the Group field which will bring up a drop-down menu to associate your Product with.
  • Stockable Item will need to be set if this is ‘true or false’.
  • Current Unit \ SKU costs to be added.
  • Tax Code to be selected from the drop-down but by default will show as ‘No Tax Defined’.
  • Selling Price which will then fill out the Price Level 1 Normal field.

If you click on General Page drop-down this will give you more options.
