Enabling Stock Transaction Value Commit Limits

Enabling Stock Transaction Value Commit Limits

This article will assist you in using a feature that will add a limit to the cost of a Stock Transaction for individual users in Total Control Premier.
This system option must be enabled by a member of the Fidelity Support team. Please contact us first so we can enable it for you and then follow the steps below to make use of it.

Before proceeding, you will need to add the Commit Level Settings applet, please follow this guide on adding applets if you are unfamiliar with the process. Adding an applet.

1. The Commit Level Settings applet can be placed under whichever Menu Bar option you wish, typically Stock Functions. Click on Commit Level Settings and you will be presented with a list of Users with columns for Security Level, Transaction Type and Max Value. From here, left click the User and Transaction Type you require and then click on Edit at the top.

2. When the below window opens, select Set Limit and change this field to True. A new field will then appear called Max Value, here you can enter your value limit. *Please note that the maximum value this field will accept is £1,000,000* Once you are happy with your choice, click Save.

3. It is possible to batch edit if you wish to make changes to multiple transaction types. So for example you could select every transaction type for one user or one transaction type for multiple users. To do this, left click on one field, then use either ctrl and left click to select other fields or shift and left click. When you are happy with your choice, click on edit and follow step 2 the same way.

4. If done correctly, the field will update and include the value you selected as shown below. This completes the process and your changes will have taken effect.
