Step Three creating fields
Each member has the standard fields, First name, Last name, Address, Post Code, etc. However, you may wish to add new fields that are relevant to your business. For example Favourite Drink, Sport, Food, Spouses birthday, etc. There is no limit to how many fields you may add.
Field Name: Type a relevant description of your field under Field name. (For example, favourite Sport)
Field Type: The field type determines what can be inputted if you select Text, anything can be entered, selecting number will only allow whole numbers to be entered, Date only allows date and time. The types you can select are; Number (whole), Currency, Text, Date, true/False.
Field Length: The field length allows you to limit the number of characters that can be entered (Example 5, max characters xxxxx).
When you have finished entering your field details click next.
Step Four Fields
Default Value: You can specify a default value, which will be entered automatically for each new member created unless it is changed manually.
Input Required: By specifying if the input is required, you can force the data inputter to enter something for this field.
Dropdown List: A dropdown list is a list of default values that the data inputter selects from. This can make data inputting quicker and easier. If you would like to create a drop-down list for this field set this to yes.
When you have entered your information click next.
Step Five, creating dropdowns
If you wish to create a drop-down list for your field then click on the button which says, “To create a drop-down list for this field click here”.
If you click 'OK' you see the following screen;
Step Six, creating dropdowns
A blank dropdown list will then be displayed for your field to add a new drop down to the list click
“Add a dropdown to the list”.
Step Seven Dropdowns
You will then be prompted to type the name of your dropdown. Enter the name then click OK.
Step Eight Dropdowns
You will then be taken back to the first screen where you will see your dropdown has been added to the list. To add another drop down repeat steps 6 to 7.
When you have finished creating your full list of dropdown’s click next.
Step Nine Creating Schemes
Every member of your system must be in the scheme, the scheme determines how much the member can gain, minimum spend before gain, how the gain is calculated and whether or not they can advance to a new scheme or drop a scheme.

NB: If you are allowing members to advance/drop schemes, start with the best scheme first (i.e. gold)
Scheme Name: Enter an appropriate name for your scheme here. I.e. Gold.
Card Re-Value uplift: Because Instant Loyalty can be configured for use in a cashless environment, you may want to reward your customers by adding a percentage on top every time he/she deposits money on their card. If this is the case enter the percentage here.
Calculate points for this scheme: This option determines whether points are issued for this scheme. If this option is ticked when you click next you will be taken to the points calculation screen.
Step 10 Points Calculation
Calculation Method: There are 5 different ways of calculating how many points are awarded; Points from whole £1.00 only, Points from the whole pound with rounding, Points as % of sales value, Points form whole N only, Points from full sales value.
Select the appropriate option. For further information on how these calculations work see page Error! Bookmark not defined..
N=: If you have chosen to use the calculation method that uses points from the whole N, use this option to specify the value of N. If any of the other calculation methods have been selected then this will have defaulted to 100(£1.00).
Points awarded for every ‘N’ Spent: Enter how many points you want to be awarded per ‘N’.
Minimum Spend: Here you can specify how much the customer needs to spend before points are calculated.
Calculate Points on redemptions: If this option is ticked then points will also be awarded when customers redeem their points.
When you have entered the relevant information click next to continue.
Step Eleven Advance Scheme
Advance Scheme To: If this option is ticked then the customer can advance to another scheme based on a defined threshold. Select from the list which scheme you would like the customer to
advance to. If you do not wish to use this option then leave this set to Nothing and click next.
If: To define the threshold you need to say which criteria the system needs to look for, you can select from Total Spend, Current Points, Date Range Spend, and Date Range Points.
Total Spend: Will look at how much the customer has spent when they reach a set amount they will be advanced automatically to the relevant scheme.
Current Points: Will look at how many points the customer has gained when they reach a set amount they will be advanced automatically to the relevant scheme.
Date Range Spend: Will look at how much the customer has spent within a given date range.
Date Range Points: Will look at how many points the customer has gained within a set date range.
NB: If you are using date ranges to determine when a customer is going to advance/drop to another scheme, then you will need to use Process Schemes option. This option allows you to enter your date range and to process the customers into the relevant scheme.
Is greater than or equal to: Enter the amount which the customer needs to have to match the threshold.
Allow Members to be dropped to the previous scheme from this scheme: If this option is ticked then the customer can drop to another scheme based on a defined threshold within a date range.
