An Introduction to 'POS Grouping'

What is POS Grouping?

TCP v2.11 introduces a new method for Grouping POS in order to control which POS receive updates when set elements are saved. POS Grouping only affects the following areas, Corrections, Executables, Group2, Paid Out, Received on Account, Price Levels, Adverts.

How do i use POS Grouping?

POS groups are created from a brand new Applet that can be added to the menu via the customise menu option. Once available you can add a Group and define specifically which Pos are part of that group, it could be All POS or All Pos within a site or Location, or individual POS. In order to receive updates from the specified areas above a POS must be part of a POS Group.

What Happens when i upgrade from a TCP version with no POS Grouping?

TCP will create Pos Groups based on how the current configuration works and replictate it, these should be checked but dont neccessarily need any further work. The affected Applets Pre 2.10 were all based on site as they are located under the GPos specifics menu, Version 2.10 and above will create site groups for each site and link the relevant tills.

Only if you wish to take advantage of the feature and expand on this do you need to do any work on these.
