Missing Transactions \ Blank Reports
If you have noticed missing transactions on the system e.g. accessing reports showing no sales data.
A good place to start is checking that you can see sales data on the system by checking the ‘Journal Reporting’ which can be found under ‘Daily Tasks’ or within ‘Analysis’ menu section.
Once you are within the Electronic Journal which will show as follows…
As TCP is a real-time system you should see the Journal date displaying the ‘current date’ against each of your POS terminals under the POS name column.
If this is not the case and you have noticed missing days it would be worth checking POS Status which can be found under ‘Daily Tasks’, ‘Analysis’ or might be within your ‘General Database’ menu sections.
If you are unable to find this can be added from the customise menu applets by Clicking Here
If you look closer at the Job Controller to check the last Start \ Update dates…
If you noticed that the ‘Job Controller’ has not run for a few days this might be down to the service has stopped on the server (If you give Support a call we will be able to advise or drop Support an email to support@fidelitysystems.com)
If the services are showing the current date/time stamp it would be worth checking the tills in the row below;
You will see in the last comms row this will list the last time the POS terminal has sent data back to the back office Total Control Premier as it’s possible the till has fallen off the network which might need a restart.
If a restart does not resolve the issue it would be worth checking the till has an active network connection and that the IP address has not changed which is no longer matching the POS terminal IP address which is listed under Setup -> Site Structure -> Your Current Site -> Location (Again if you are unsure drop Support an Email or give Support a call).
If everything matches.
The next step would be to check under ‘Daily Tasks’ or ‘General Database’
We are looking for ‘Suspect Transactions’ as it’s possible the POS terminal date/time is incorrect and the system is posting into the future.
If this is the case if you highlight and click ‘Go To Transaction Details’
This will take you into the transactions details and display as follows…
If you highlight and click ‘Post Transactions’
The following message will appear…
If you click ‘Yes’ you might see the following message...
The reason this has happened as the system cannot post into the future as the POS terminal in my example was running two hours fast.
You will need to highlight the transactions and you can adjust the date/time.
You will see the following box appear…
I am now changing the time to correct the problem as my example POS terminal was running two hours fast to correct the time. Once done, if you click ‘Save’ you will see the following message…
If you click ‘Yes’ this will correct the date/time stamp on the transaction…
If you now retry to ‘Post transactions’ you will see the following message…
If you look back in the ‘Journal Reporting’ you will see the missing sales data appearing in the journal again. If you now run the reports which will no longer be showing blank missing sales data.
** If the POS terminal date\Date is incorrect if you can check the POS terminal and correct the date\time by shutting down GPOS from your Manager options and on the toolbar in the bottom right-hand corner double-clicking and adjusting the time. This will correct future transactions going forwards which will post in the journal reporting and not under the suspect transactions section.
