Adding a new screen page in Touch Screen Layout.

Adding a new screen page in Touch Screen Layout.

Please note that this is intended as a basic guide to show how you to create a new screen page and add buttons to it. As mentioned in the last step, nothing you change here will be saved unless you explicitly select to Save and Close. So you can experiment as much as you wish until you're happy with your changes.

1. First, log into Total Control and ensure that you have selected the correct Site (If you have more than one).

2. Next, from your Menu Bar, select 'GPoS Specifics' and then 'Touch Screen Layout'. A new tab will open and you'll see an 'Accept' button, click this and Touch Screen Layout will launch.

3. When TSL loads up, it will show you screen 1 by default, you'll want to change this to the next available free screen page by using the drop down menu named 'Select Screen Page' as you can see in the image below

Select next available screen page.
4. Once you have selected your blank page, you'll want to name it first, you can do this is the field called 'Screen Name'. The next thing you'll want to do is add a grid for your buttons. You can find grid options by clicking the arrow buttons shown below until you see the 'Grid' tab.

There are a few different options, simply select the one you wish and then click on 'Add' This will add the selected grid to the screen, you can then re-size it and move it to wherever you please. If you aren't happy with any changes you make, you can delete the entire grid by clicking on the 'delete' button and then start again.

Select a grid.
5. Once you're happy with your grid, you can add your buttons. For this example, we're going to assume you want to add products to the screen but you'll see from the other options that you can add other things, such as discounts etc. Use the arrows highlighted in the picture above to find the option called 'PLU'. This will then display a list of your PLUs. You can search for the ones you want, then left click and drag them into the empty buttons.

New PLU buttons.
6. To begin with they will look like the example above but you can make various changes to them. Simply left click on the button and the options shown below will be displayed.

Button editing options.
7. Using these you can change the button colour, font, font size, button style etc. Some basic examples are shown below.

Different button choices.
8. When you are creating a new screen page, you may wish to include a means for your staff to return to your home page so they can complete a transaction for example. To do this, use the same arrow buttons you used to find the PLU and Grid options and look for 'Screen Pages'. You can then left click and drag the 'home screen' option into an empty button.

When clicked on this will automatically take you back to your home screen. It would be advisable to also add a button to your home screen that will bring you to this new screen that you've just created.

9. When you're happy with what you've done, click on 'Save and Close' at the top left of your screen. This will take you back to Total Control and you can then send updates to your tills. Once complete, your new screen page will be available. It's important to remember that at any point, if you're not happy with what you've done, you can delete the entire button grid and start again. Also, if you don't want to save any of your changes, just click on Close (no save) and nothing you've done will be saved.
