Epson TM Virtual Port Driver Setup

These instructions will guide you through setting up an Epson TM-T70 as a receipt printer using the USB  virtual port drivers.
  1. Download the drivers from the Epson website - https://download.epson-biz.com/modules/pos/index.php?page=single_soft&cid=6919&scat=36&pcat=3
  2. Install on the POS with default settings.
  3. Open the Epson TM Virtual Port Driver Port Assignment Tool you just installed.

  4. Select an unused port and click assign, We advise using port COM10.
  5. Ensure that the first recognised device is automatically assigned to this port, the TM printer port is selected, and click OK.
  6. The tool should look like the image below. Go ahead and now close the tool by pressing exit.
  7. Open the GPoS Utility and go to the peripheral setup screen. Add a new printer like the image below ensuring you have set the com port to the one you set in the Epson assignment tool.
  8. Set your new printer in System Options (System Option 221) and ensure the correct printer config is set for your printer (System Option 225). For the Epson TM-T70 you would need to select the EPSON_TMT88II config.

  9. Close the utility saving any changes and restart GPoS if still open. Printing should now work on your Epson thermal printer using a USB cable.
