Journal Analysis (How to Use)

Journal Analysis

This can be found under ‘Analysis’ menu section or within the ‘Daily Tasks’ section. 

When you open the Journal Analysis screen you will be shown the following screen;


Before we start if you select your date range under the date range tab.


If you click into the General tab, this will give you more options where you can search by, Bill No, Receipt No, Table No.

Also, you can breakdown in more depth to show transactions as Cancelled, Training, Correction, Refund, Void or by Discount.


Under the ‘Sales / Discount’ tab (these are optional) as you can search by totals.


Under the ‘Product’ tab you can search by a range of products or a single PLU.


If you click ‘Add’ the system will give you the option to select PLUs or a single PLU to check Journal sales.


Within the ‘POS’ terminal tab you can select a single POS terminal to look at.


Clicking ‘Add’ will give you a list of POS terminals to select from.


Under the ‘Clerks’ tab the same as the ‘Products’ and ‘POS’ tabs. Where you can add in a single clerk to search against if you are trying to breakdown results.


Clicking ‘Add’ will give you a list of your current clerks to select from.


Under the ‘Key Codes’ tab


If you click ‘Add’ this will give you a list of your Payment keys


When using the Journal Analysis you don’t need to select an option from each of the tabs, for example, if you only wanted to search by ‘Date Range’ and ‘Payment Key’ which can be done by selecting your date range followed by selecting the key codes and then selecting the payment type. Once you are ready if you click the 'show results' .

When clicking ‘Show results’ you will see a list of your transactions from your search show in the Electronic Journal.


If you click on a transaction this will show under the Related transaction information section as follows;


If you need to print a copy, this can be done by selecting ‘Options’. This will allow you to export to Mircosoft Excel, Word or to a PDF or 'Print the transaction info'.
